As a grass-roots foundation remembering the many great educators of the past (like the Co-Founders parents William and Mary Settle), Community Outreach of America was born in 2002.
Rev. and Mrs. Settle dedicated over 38 years of service like many other “teachers and leaders” of the civil rights movement where their service extended far beyond the school house doors deep into poor communities and into the many churches in the South. 

Those un-sung heroes and heroines of education impacted the lives of thousands of individuals and numerous communities across this country through unparalleled service and dedication.  To them we say “thank you” for giving us a dynamic start.

We know and understand that much of their success was due to the “re-education” of changing how one “thinks” in a time when desire, determination, and a made-up mind could create miracles.  Today education stills means freedom… and exposure to a different mindset of excellence, belief, pride and success is still crucial.

Community Outreach of America symbolizes the “empowerment of ALL communities” through education. Our job is to remind others of “the ultimate vision of “community”… picking up where others left off….“carrying a new torch for a totally new generation.” 

Community Outreach challenges individuals and communities to invest time and money in themselves to change their lives.  Through our college scholarships, educational workshops and programs we help individuals develop meaningful solutions for their lives that can help foster positive changes for a better today and a better tomorrow.

Until we target our "thoughts" and  truly understand how
"those thoughts" create our reality....the unwanted results
in our lives will remain.
